Memorial Fountain

One of the early projects which the Memorial Fund undertook was the funding of the Memorial Fountain in 1979.  Would you believe that this was purchased and installed for under $1,500?  Pete Peterson oversaw the rebuilding of this fountain in 2009-2010.  His assessment of this structure is excellent and follows:  "At the center of every town and village is a monument that reminds us of why we are here.  Hawthorne's reminder is our Memorial Fountain.  It reminds us of those who prepared a great place for us to live and reminds us to preserve what we have for future residents".
